The section "Museums Participatory Projects" is a collection of initiatives and activities promoted by catalan museums and collections that attempt to involve and engage the public. A participatory cultural institution is a space where visitors can create, share and connect with each other around their content.

    The aim of this scoping review is to synthesise existing evidence on the positive effect of arts and cultural activities on health and well-being. This means the review is not limited to a few research questions but seeks to provide a clear indication of the volume of existing literature, the key concepts, focus points and the types of studies that exist.

    Delyramus

    The project particularly focused on European musical heritage of the 15th-16th centuries. One of the objectives was to recover the potential of European organological (14 instruments) rich heritage in order to reach with them vulnerable collectives (especially people with mental health problems) as participants of implementation of project and dissemination of early music.

    Novus are creating foundations for change through prison education and for almost 30 years they have been helping men, women and children of all ages and abilities, in prison settings across England and Wales, to take new directions. Novus proposed innovative arts and family enrichment programmes in order to support children to develop positive relationships, strengthening bonds with family, friends and significant others.

    The aim of the report is to improve awareness of the benefits that the arts can bring to health and wellbeing, and to stimulate progress towards making these benefits a reality in the UK. This APPG inquiry into existing engagement of the arts in health and social care was made to make recommendations to improve policy and practice.

    Illuminart Museum

    Illuminart Museum is the first virtual museum for patients in hospitals, a project done by Art dans la Cité and presented for the first time on October 2019, to the project partners and enthusiastic health facility managers. This multi-cultural venue open to the world, allows patients to discover works of art from all over the world in their hospital rooms, and have access to a multidisciplinary and international artistic and cultural program.

    The Prescription for Reminiscence Project links into museum services across the Oxford Aspire Museums Partnership, a consortium of Oxford University Museums and Oxfordshire County Council Museums Service (and one of 16 Renaissance Major Partner Museum Services funded by ACE to support excellence and resilience within regional museums).

    Inclusive museums for well-being and health through the creation of a new shared memory

    The Inclusive Memory project aims at promoting the building of a common shared social memory realised through a museum based social inclusive system, through the link Art-Health-Wellbeing. It is based on the concept which sees museums as teaching and learning environments, and Universities as active social actors, both strengthening their role of cultural integration facilitators.

    Course: Introduction to Arts in Health

    The first Course: Introduction Arts in Health at the National Museum of Art of Catalonia is emphasizing the development and management of mental health programs, such as anxiety disorders and depression, and it is addressed to cultural and health professionals. Every Tuesday, for five sessions, leading international experts, technicians and heads of the national health system of Catalonia, doctors and health professionals, associations of patients and relatives in the field of mental health, as well as professionals from museums and other cultural managers, shared their expertise on what are the contributions of arts in the field of health.

    RecuperArt-19

    In Catalonia, the Departament de Cultura de la Generalitat and Institut Català de Salut have partnered to create RecuperArt-19 project for health professionals, who are suffering from emotional stress related to the management of Covid-19. RecuperArt-19 proposes the creation of an activity in various museums in Catalonia to improve the emotional state of health professionals from techniques and resources based on art and culture.

    Arts & Health institutions | Interdisciplinary collaboration

    Vall d'Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus and the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC) signed a collaboration agreement to carry out different actions aimed at exploring the potential of art as a tool for patients and families to enjoy its therapeutic and emotional benefits.
